Things couldn’t have been much worse for comedian Tig Notaro in 2012. In a single year, she had to deal with a life threatening infection, lost her mother and was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer. While this, understandably, would have knocked anyone for a loop, Notaro channeled her pain into her work and embarked on a now legendary series of standup performances. This period of Notaro’s life is captured in the new Netflix documentary Tig. Today the streaming giant released a trailer for the film, and based on the first peak, it makes for some powerful viewing. Tig debuts on July 17.
