Pretty Little Liars, ABC Family’s hit teen drama, is what catapulted Ashley Benson into stardom. Benson, however, is way more than the ditzy blond she plays on PLL. Between guest spots on popular shows and supporting roles in big movies, Benson is just getting started. Her latest project with Adam Sandler and Kevin James, Pixels, is a high budget action/adventure film that hits theaters later this week.

13 Going On 30 (2004)
Ashley Benson’s first film role was all the way back in 2004 in the beloved rom-com 13 Going On 30. The role is tiny, but her scrunchie and adorable polka dot shirt make her the perfect fit for the ’80s flashback. Bart Got A Room (2008)
In this indie hit, Benson plays Alice, a popular cheerleader, who Danny, a geeky senior, wants to take to prom. Danny wants the full prom experience including a date, a good time, and a hotel room. Spring Breakers (2012)
The gritty film, which is Benson’s most daring role to date, follows four college students who rob a restaurant in order to have the ultimate spring break in Florida. How I Met Your Mother (2013)
Benson had a one episode stint on the hit CBS sitcom as Carly, a romantic interest for Ted (Josh Radnor). Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) encourages Ted to try and keep up with the younger, more adventurous, and slightly aloof Carly. Benson got to show off some comedic chops in this role, as Carly was infatuated with Ted because she finds old men sexy and even wondered aloud if he served in Vietnam. Pretty Little Liars (2010-present)
Benson’s most well known role is as Hanna Marin, the seemingly ditzy, but surprisingly clever high school student who is one of four Pretty Little Liars. The liars have been stalked and tormented by a mysterious person who calls him or herself “A” for the last six seasons. It’s all coming to an end this summer, though, as A’s identity will finally be revealed.
