This week on VOD we’ve got some big names, like Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds in the superhero buddy (frenemy?) flick Deadpool & Wolverine, and Dave Bautista in the action-comedy The Killer’s Game. There’s also the great new thriller Speak No Evil starring James McAvoy which is out now on demand.
In the Blumhouse’s Speak No Evil, McAvoy stars as a man hosting a couple and their mute son at his country estate. But, as they soon realize, his disturbing motives for bringing the family to his home would likely get him kicked off of Airbnb, and they fear what he has in store for them. Mackenzie Davis, Aisling Franciosi, Alix West Lefler, Dan Hough and Scoot McNairy co-star in this chilling tale written and directed by James Watkins.
Deadpool & Wolverine
It’s the movie that got Hugh Jackman out of Wolverine retirement! Jackman, donning his signature Wolverine mutton chops, joined Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool for one of this summer’s biggest hits, Deadpool & Wolverine, and now the film is available on VOD. The film, part of Phase 5 of the MCU, co-stars Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, and Rob Delaney.
The Killer’s Game
The Killer’s Game, based on the 1997 novel of the same name by Jay Bonansinga, stars Dave Bautista as a hit man named Joe Flood who takes out a hit on himself after he learns that he might be dying. The trouble with his plan is that the assassins he hires for his own murder/assisted suicide/whatever you want to call it are also targeting his ex-girlfriend (Sofia Boutella), too.
