Yellowstone may be airing its final episodes, but Cole Hauser‘s Rip Wheeler and Kelly Reilly‘s Beth Dutton are continuing their story.

Deadline reports that the two stars have solidified deals to lead a new spinoff, which, according to the outlet, will feature the flagship series name in its title. The new project will be helmed creatively by Yellowstone series creator Taylor Sheridan.

A recent social media post from Hauser gave some fans a different impression, as he captioned a picture with several of his co-stars, “Just found this picture of all of our last day together on set!”

The spinoff news arrives mere days before the Paramount Network show’s Season 5, Part 2 finale, which airs this Sunday (Dec. 15). According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming episode will have a run time of one hour and 26 minutes.

Hauser had told THR in November that there are “no limits” to what Sheridan could do with his and Reilly’s Yellowstone characters, noting that “you can go on forever about these two.”

As noted by Deadline, reports came out in August that Yellowstone could continue on with Hauser and Reilly at the helm in the midst of Kevin Costner‘s exit as John Dutton.

Reilly, who described her role to DECIDER as “one of the most electrifying, satisfying, challenging roles [she’s] ever played,” noted that Sheridan’s work on Yellowstone has “reinvigorated the storytelling of the modern Western.” Meanwhile, Hauser explained that Sheridan has “done a good job of explaining a lot of the history of that area,” highlighting how he is able to “educate, entertain and enlighten.”

“He’s given all these different characters the opportunity to speak,” he told DECIDER.

Yellowstone airs on Paramount Network Sundays at 8/7c.
