edit- Oka Castle (岡城). Fortifications were first built here in 1145 and saw some conflict but it was not a full-fledged castle until Hideshige Nakagawa built and expanded it in 1594. The castle survived until the Meiji Period when it was ordered to be torn town. They removed all the structures during that time but the walls were left and remain there today. The ruins are impressive and large, spanning two peaks viewable from one another. The castle is listed as one of Japan's Top 100 Castles, is one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots, and is also a popular place to view autumn foliage.
