Summary
| Description |
English: View of Freedom Fields park in the Lipton area of the city, looking toward Plymouth Sound. The park gained its name as for centuries local young men would each year recreate mock battles to commemorate victory against invading Bretons. Later, in the English Civil War, the Siege of Plymouth was ended here as Royalists troops were defeated by the Parliamentarian army. |
