End Up Here Lyrics

[Verse 1: Luke, Ashton, Luke & Michael]
You walked in, everyone was asking for your name
You just smiled and told them "Trouble" (Oh)
My head spins, I'm pressed against the wall
Just watching your every move, you're way too cool
And you're coming this way, coming this way

[Chorus: All]
How did we end up talking in the first place?
You said you liked my Cobain shirt
Now we're walking back to your place
You're telling me how you love that song
About living on a prayer

I'm pretty sure that we're halfway there
But when I wake up next to you
I wonder how, how did we end up here?

[Post-Chorus: Michael]
How did we end up, how did we end up here?

[Verse 2: Calum & Michael, Ashton]
Next day out, everybody thought you were so insane
'Cause you were so far out of my league (Oh)
My friends said I should lock you down
Before you figure me out and you run away
But you don't and you won't
As you kiss me and you tell me that you're here to stay
[Post-Chorus: Michael]
How did we end up, how did we end up here?
How did we end up, how did we end up here?

Genius Answer

From their Track By Track:

Michael: We wrote this with Alex again, and John again.

Ashton: That moment, “You’re telling me how…”

Michael: “…you love that song about living on a prayer, I’m pretty sure we’re halfway there,” we were like…

Ashton: Lyrics! I remember writing that song, we wanted to write something up-tempo that gets the crowd jumping.

Michael: Like the whole song is floor to the floor.

Ashton: That’s actually something we thought about at first. We were like, “We need a song that lifts the crowd.” Like we always think about tempos and stuff that’ll make the crowd sort of, go crazy. And we really wanted it to be a party atmosphere at our shows, so we’ve tried to write a lot of songs that are party songs.
