33 “GOD” Lyrics

[Post-Chorus]
(Here in this room, this narrow room
Where life began when we were young last night)

[Verse 2]
Well we walked up on that bolt in the street
After you tied me in in the driveway of the apartment of his bede
Sent your sister home in a cab

[Pre-Chorus]
Said I woulda walked across any thousand lands
(No not really if you can't)
I didn't need you that night
Not gonna need you anytime

Was gonna take it as it goes
I could go forward in the light
Well I better fold my clothes

[Chorus]
(I've been looking through your mind)
All my goodness
(I've been looking through your mind)
(I've been looking through your mind)
All my goodness to show
(Why are you so far from saving me?)
(Why are you so far from saving me?)

Why are you so FAR from saving me

It is also worth mentioning that the number ‘3’ is associated with the Holy Trinity:

  • God, The Father (i.e. Creator of Universe)
  • The Holy Spirit (i.e. The Physical Universe)
  • Jesus Christ (i.e. Son of God and Human Representation of God)

What did Bon Iver say about "33 “GOD”"?
Genius Answer

From Bon Iver’s official Bio, written by musicologist, former bandmate, and longtime friend of Justin, Trevor Hagen:

If Bon lver, Bon lver built a habitat rooted in physical spaces, then 22, A Million is the letting go of that attachment to a place. “I’m taking deeper consideration in another kind of place -our friendships and connections to other people.” Justin proclaims this shift in ‘33 “GOD”’: “These will just be places to me now'. Rather than places we encounter a collection of numerical relationships: binary code, mystic ages, Bible chapters, math-logic, repeating infinities. Inside these numbers are a sonic distillation of imagery from the past years of turbulence and how to recover.
