Originally performed during NCT 127’s second concert tour NEO CITY : SEOUL – THE LINK, “The Reason Why It’s Favorite" is an aimed depiction of the before and after of the story based on NCT 127’s title track “Favorite (Vampire).”
Multiple times since the advertising of the title track began, Doyoung expressed the happiness he felt while promoting the song and stated that it personally had a topic based on a drama as well as a resemblance of the live-action of a webtoon. Because of that, the ballad was a gift from the original songwriter and producer of “Favorite (Vampire),” KENZIE.
Sung over layered melodies and violins, the lyrics and performance stage have the intention of maximizing the despair and dramatism felt due to forbidden love.
