“Bob Dylan” was announced along with the tracklist for Believers Never Die: Volume Two. Other than the promotional single, it is the only new song on the collection.

The title references singer/songwriter Bob Dylan, who has been a pop culture icon for nearly five decades. He was known for his political and social stances, often being called the “voice of his generation,” which, coincidentally, was a lyric sung by Elton John in “Save Rock and Roll.”

This song was originally set to appear on American Beauty/American Psycho, according to Joe Trohman in an interview with Kerrang.
