In “그 XX (That XX),” G-Dragon secretly crushes on a girl who’s in a relationship with a guy that cheated on her. The girl is blinded by love, so she refuses to believe the truth and GD tells her white lies so she isn’t upset with him. Throughout the song, he rants about how he is the better choice.
This is the second single and fourth track off G-Dragon’s sophomore EP One of a kind, which was released with an accompanying music video directed by Sa Min Han. The song was considered to be inappropriate for people who were under 18 due to its explicit lyrics, so the curse words in the music video were censored and replaced with beeps.
The music video’s narrative is driven by the song’s lyrics, and G-Dragon interprets both the good and bad guy. His labelmate, Jennie Kim, acted as the heroine of the story while she was still an idol trainee. Four years later, Jennie debuted in YG Entertainment’s girl group BLACKPINK.
