“I’m Real [Murder Remix]” is the fifth single from the re-release of Jennifer Lopez' second album J.Lo and the first single from her remix collection J-To-Tha-L-O.
The song is essentially a Part II-style remix in that the song was completely re-written and re-produced while maintaining the same lyrical concept of the original track.
Although only the original track credits were included in all inlay material at the time of the song’s release, the song was in fact rewritten by Seven Aurelius, Irv Gotti and Cory Rooney, with additional credit for Ja Rule per his rap section and Rick James for the sample of his song “Mary Jane”.

“I’m Real”…this was another remix that we did, we had already shot the first video but then I did this remix with Ja Rule – everyone went crazy for the song so we decided to shoot a video for it. We shot it in one day. The stylists brought me all this fancy couture from all the big designers. But this little known company Juicy sent these sweatsuits for me to chill and hang out in…I loved them so much I decided to wear it in the video with my throwback Adidas and my nameplate and a bun. I shocked everyone when I decided to wear it! It seemed fitting since the song is called “I’m Real”, so I decided to be ME!!"

The single peaked in charts all over the world, with the lowest charting position being #28 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Songs chart.
“I’m Real” went gold in France, selling 250,000 units, silver in the U.K. and platinum in Australia.
