“Solita” (English: Alone) is a song by Colombian-American singer Kali Uchis. It was released on December 4, 2019, through Virgin EMI Records and Interscope Records. Originally meant to serve as the lead single for Uchis’ second studio album, Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) ∞, the track would be excluded from the standard version of the album. The song would later be included on the vinyl release and its 2021 deluxe edition.

During her Beats 1 interview with Zane Lowe, Kali shared:
The vibe was sad yet horny. You know, there’s a bit of like sexiness in it, but it’s also like nostalgic. Like, the hook basically translates to: ‘I’d rather dance alone than with the devil.’ So, I think it kinda just goes back to wanting to feel empowered about independence rather than feel like: ‘poor me, I’m alone.’ It’s not really like that. I wrote this song a year ago. I was coming out of a breakup from a really long relationship, and I think the song still resonates with me because I definitely look at relationships really differently [now]. I think a great relationship can add a lot of value to your life, and anything that isn’t or any people or relationships or friendships that aren’t adding value to your life, I think it’s important to cut those out. I’m older now. I’m 25. I just feel like if you’re not adding value, you’re polluting […] my space, my sanctuary. […] This is one of the more bilingual songs on the album, so this one is definitely more Spanglish.
