Nectar of the Gods Lyrics

[Intro]
Ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh

[Verse 1]
What cruel world is this? Nectar of the Gods
Heroin gold in my veins and you in my thoughts
I'm on the freeway racing at a million and I just can’t stop
I call you up twice, hang up the phone, call again, I wanna talk

[Chorus]
I get wild on you, baby
I get wild and fuckin' crazy like you never knew, knew, knew
I get wild on you, baby
I get wild and fuckin' crazy like the color blue, ooh-ooh

[Verse 2]
What sweet world is this? Honey on the vine
School kid dreams came true, then passed in the night
I used to dream about people like you, now I don’t know why
I used to sing about people like you, now I just get high

[Chorus]
I get wild on you, baby
I get wild and fuckin' crazy like you never knew, knew, knew
I get wild on you, baby
I get wild and fuckin' crazy like the color blue, ooh-ooh
[Bridge]
Ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh

[Chorus]
I get wild on you, baby
I get wild and fuckin' crazy like you never knew, ooh, ooh
I get wild on you, baby
I get wild and fuckin' crazy like the color blue, ooh-ooh

[Outro]
Californ-I-A, homeland of the Gods
Once I found my way, but now I am lost

Genius Annotation

“Nectar of the Gods”, previously kown with the titles "Wild on You” and “Color Blue” is an acoustic song song from Lana Del Rey’s eighth studio album, Blue Banisters.

The track, that leaked on May 1st, 2019 via tumblr, was written back in 2013 by Lana and her then-boyfriend Barrie James O’Neill and comes from the same session as “Cherry Blossom”. Both tracks ended up on the 2021 album Blue Banisters, but it is believed that they’re outtakes from the 2014 album Ultraviolence. Some fans speculate that “Nectar of the Gods” was also intended to be included in the 2017 album Lust For Life, however was cut prior to the album being released.

The official title of the song appeard for the first time on the pop culture forum ATRL, where it was posted by an insider some days before its official announcement alongside the official tracklist on the Lana Del Rey website.
