Don’t Go (Commentary) Lyrics

[Interlude]
"Don't Go." This is me and Bub again. Me and Bub writing — this is another me and, um, Big Bub studio session where he just pushed me to this, this place vocally and helped, you know — just gave me the confidence by telling me that what everything I did that was Mary J. Blige was great. Of course, it's Chucky Thompson again, and um, man, this, this song just really messes with me. Again, I'm, I'm begging, don't leave me — it's consistent, though, the album is very heavy. And, and um — oh, and another thing about this song, this was a Guy sample, um, saying, saying bye-bye. That's the namе of it — was it saying bye-bye? What was Guy song name? "Evеn though I hate to leave, girl, though I cry as I walk out the door." What was the name of it? "I can't believe that this is happening to us. We made vows to never be..." — oh, "Goodbye Love." "Goodbye Love." That song was crazy. Guy had a crazy run, crazy album. And so, when I heard this song, I was losing my mind. I mean, this album was, as dark as it is, we had so much fun making it. We had so much fun lifting each other up, making each other feel better. And um, just, just the samples that we used, they just uplifted us, they made us feel better, we could feel it. So, "Don't Go," baby
