“MILK OF THE SIREN” is the third and last deluxe track on American singer-songwriter Melanie Martinez’s deluxe edition of their third studio album, PORTALS. The song is a remastered version of Melanie’s leaked 2021 track, “Sirens.”

On April 3, 2023, shortly after the release of PORTALS, many reuploads of “Sirens” on YouTube were copyrighted by YouTube Music’s auto-generated function. However, many of these videos would remain public, and the descriptions would be labeled “MILK OF THE SIREN.”

Later that day, Melanie would continue to tease the song’s release by adding the first lyric of “Sirens” to their bio on Instagram. Another confirmation of the track’s release was Melanie’s Spotify page, as their “Artist Pick” feature revealed the artist’s comment, “stream to unlock deluxe,” linking to PORTALS.

On April 4, 2023, a number Melanie’s team posted to promote PORTALS, received a message from the number that read: “🥛🧜‍♀️TONIGHT 9pm PST/12am EST” hinting at the title of the song.
