“玻璃心” (lit, “Glass heart”) is a Chinese slang to describe a person whose feelings are easily hurt. Some netizens use the word to mock “小粉紅” (lit, “Little pink”), a group of Chinese netizens known for their radical nationalist tendencies.

The song garnered attention from other Chinese speaking nations such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore for its blatant calling out of the Chinese Communist Party, though the song and video also trended in the west as well.

As a direct result of the virality of the song, both artist’s Weibo accounts were blocked in China.
