In this musical number, the town of Bikini Bottom is trying to figure out what exactly they’ll do when the volcano (Mt. Humongous) erupts, and how they could escape certain peril.

Plankton cooks up a scheme to convince the citizens to evacuate by ordering an escape pod online and having it delivered just before sunset the next day (when the volcano is predicted to erupt). What the town doesn’t know, however, is that Plankton and Karen are going to use the escape pod to group everyone together and hypnotize them in bulk. They plan to hypnotize everyone into loving chum burgers and moving to Chumville, where Plankton and Karen will reign supreme, dominating the fast food industry and then… well, the world.

Spongebob (the only one, it seems, besides Sandy, who wasn’t dancing with the group) disagrees and protests the idea, trying to argue against Plankton. He states that they could try to figure out a way to SAVE Bikini Bottom by stopping the volcano, rather than leaving everything behind and starting somewhere completely new.

Despite his efforts, the town goes with Plankton’s plan, much to the copepod’s delight.
