Yesterday Man Lyrics

I'm her yesterday man
([?] even look of love she had last night)
I'm her yesterday man
([?] even look of love she had last night)

Please tell me something, have you met an angel?
Someone too lovely to live on earth
Well yesterday, I thought I met an angel
But she wasn't worth what she seemed to be worth
And oh, what a fool I have been
I was sure taken in

[Chorus]
I'm her yesterday man
Well, my friends that's what I am
I'm her yesterday man
Well, my friends that's what I am
That's what I am, her yesterday man

([?] her look of love she had last night)
([?] her look of love she had last night)

Get some of the good and then some of the bad kind
Some of the others or in between
But all I can say is she is the worse kind
Well, I think you know what I mean
And yet in spite of all that I say
I'd take the bad any day
[Chorus]
I'm her yesterday man
([?] her look of love she had last night)
I'm her yesterday man
([?] her look of love she had last night)
I'm her yesterday man ([?] her look of love she had last night)
([?] look of love she had last night)
I'm her yesterday man ([?] her look of love she had last night)
([?] her look of love she had last night)
I'm her yesterday man ([?] her look of love she had last night)
([?] her look of love she had last night)

About

Genius Annotation

“Yesterday Man” was Robert Wyatt’s followup to his successful “I’m a Believer” single. It was given a much quieter release than “Believer” due to Virgin Records claiming it to be too sorrowful, denying Wyatt the chance to have another hit single.

The song was originally a pop hit recorded by British singer Chris Andrews in 1965.
