Bleed Into Me Lyrics
Bleed into me
An ounce of your empathy
Eyes lock, you can see
A ghost, an invisible city
Bleed
[Verse 1]
Bleed into me
Those feelings you're harboring
The silence says it all
Tragedy, the look before the fall
[Pre-Chorus]
Struggles and dreams mix into one
The grim rituals have only begun
No use in leaving
I'll drift off before you are gone
Before you are gone
[Chorus]
As it bleeds into me
Let it sink in for you
Tell them the story
Tell them the truth
As it bleeds into me
Let it sink in for you
Tell them the story
Tell them the truth
Let it bleed into you
Bleed into you
Bleed into me
A bit of your apathy
Cast aside, forget me
Another disappears in the city
[Pre-Chorus]
Struggles and dreams mix into one
The grim rituals have only begun
No use in leaving
I'll drift off before you are gone
Before you are gone
[Chorus]
As it bleeds into me
Let it sink in for you
Tell them the story
Tell them the truth
As it bleeds into me
Let it sink in for you
Tell them the story
Tell them the truth
Let it bleed into you
[Bridge]
Falling down (Falling down)
Falling down
An ounce of your empathy
Struggles and dreams
They'll drift off before you are gone (Gone, gone, gone)
(Gone, gone, gone)
(Before you are gone)
As it bleeds into me
Let it sink in for you
(Tell them the truth)
As it bleeds into me
Let it sink in for you
Tell them the story
Tell them the truth
As it bleeds into me
Let it sink in for you
Tell them the story
Tell them the truth
Let it bleed into you
Bleed into you
Bleed into you
About
“It just set things apart, and this was a song where the vocals and the lyrics were really the driving force of the song. I’m very pleased with how this song came out, and I wanted it to be about people in your city that are often not paid attention to, and sometimes there’s this other world around you that you don’t pay attention to until there’s a moment that causes you to. Coming back to the pandemic, it created that moment I was thinking of and is a good way to explain the thought that all of the people doing the jobs you don’t think about—how they’re the focus of everything and the lifeblood of what’s keeping things running.” source: Paolo Gregoletto interviewed by altpress.com
“I was riding back to the airport on the train here in Chicago and I saw someone shooting up heroin on the train. I was watching the guy go through the motion of things, looking back to make sure no-one was coming. In a lot of towns and cities, there are people who are just going through life being ignored – a lot of times, the easiest way to deal with an issue is to pretend it’s not there. You walk by people and you don’t know what they’re going through.
“That was my inspiration for the lyrics: making a brief connection with this other world happening around you. We have such a great life – we have the privilege of touring and making music, we have families – and I just needed this brief moment of going eye-to-eye with this person, telling me about their life and how this world exists whether you see it or not.”

An April 2020 Louder Sound article quotes guitarist Corey Beaulieu saying:
The record has all the elements that are Trivium, along with all of us wanting to keep pushing ourselves creatively. This led to a highly-inspired and fast-paced writing and recording process that really captures the energy of the band.
