Varanasi (Hindi: वाराणसी, Hindustani uchchaaran: [ʋaːˈɾaːɳəsiː] ( suno)), jise Banaras, Urdu: بنارس, Banāras [bəˈnɑːɾəs] ( suno)) aur Kaashi, Urdu: کاشی, Kāśī [ˈkaːʃiː] ( suno)) bhi kahii hae, Gangaa nadi ke tat par bhaarat ke Uttar pradesh raajy men basaa shahar hae. Ise Hindu dharm men sarvaadhik pavitr shahar maanaa jaataa hae aur ise avimukt kshetra kahaa jaataa hae.
