1. Ensure their audience is the right fit

Influencer fit is important, but so is audience alignment. Just because an influencer matches your brand’s style or tone, doesn’t mean their audience is necessarily the right fit.

See who comments on their posts, who uses their hashtags, who some of their followers are, and who the influencer has partnered with in the past as well. Are they frequently featuring products from your competitors? Odds are, that audience is a good fit.

2. Make sure your own brand is in order

You’re not the only person snooping around someone’s social media profiles. When you reach out to an influencer, they will snoop right back.

When an influencer agrees to partner with you, they’re also putting their reputation on the line. If your brand doesn’t look professional or active, they’ll be likely to pass.

Finding repeat success with influencer outreach
