KIDD: GOTTA MAKE SURE THEY’RE DEAD

NET NOTES

MILWAUKEE – The Nets are becoming mindful of Yogi Berra’s most existential message: It ain’t over ’til it’s over.

“Being able to finish a team,” Jason Kidd said without blinking, when asked where the Nets’ major failing remains – they had the Wizards by 20 on Friday, for example, but still allowed them to get within three. “We’ve always had problems putting our foot down – sometimes we exhale or inhale, or however you want to say it. It’s [by] relaxing and letting teams come back. We have to shut it down in the sense of ending the game. That’s the next step for us to get better.”

The Nets were without Aaron Williams (groin) for a second straight game, while Lucious Harris was expected to be a game-time decision. Harris sprained his left ankle early in the season, sprained his right ankle last week in Memphis and then sprained the left one again Friday against Washington. “This is the usual ankle I twist, the left one I sprain all the time,” said Harris.

The Bucks had Toni Kukoc back in the mix. Kukoc had not played since Dec. 1 because of back spasms, but went through a full practice on Friday and was activated yesterday as Dan Langhi (ankle) went on the injured list. Milwaukee was still minus Brian Skinner (knee surgery, out since Nov. 6).

Kittles ranks sixth in the NBA in steals at 2.04 per game while Kidd continued to top the league in assists with 9.4 per.
