ALBANY – Gov. Spitzer‘s embattled inspector general, Kristine Hamann – who started and then stopped her investigation of the dirty-tricks scandal – will answer questions for the first time today as she appears before the Senate Investigations Committee.
Hamann claimed in late July that she investigated the scandal and reached the same conclusion as Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, whose bombshell July 23 report outlined a plot by top Spitzer aides to use the State Police to dig up dirt on Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno (R-Rensselaer.)
But, at a Investigations Committee hearing last month, an aide to Hamann revealed she had never completed a probe of the scandal.
