BROOKLYN B’DAY GIRL HITS 110

A Brooklyn great-grandmother – born the same year the five boroughs united into New York City – celebrated her 110th birthday yesterday.

Elsie Freeman remembers listening to the radio to hear bulletins about the sinking of the Titanic, which made headlines around the world in 1912.

“I feel good,” Freeman told The Post. “The Lord keeps me here. He isn’t ready for me yet.”

Surrounded by family and friends, she sipped wine and blew out the candles on her birthday cake in the Fort Greene brownstone she has called home since 1923. At that time, hers was the only African-American family in the neighborhood.

Freemanmaintains a healthy diet, granddaughter Kimberly Freeman said, adding, “She drinks a glass of wine every night.”
