Actor D.B. Sweeney, who’s starring in the upcoming se ries “Crash,” is negotiating to produce his own Web series to debut early next year. It’ll be called “The Opportunist,” with Sweeney starring as an American on the run in Mex ico. “I’m into mean and lean filmmaking and want to play this kind of part,” he says.

“Crash,” premiering Oct. 17 on Starz, features an ensem ble case including Dennis Hopper and is based on the 2004 Oscar winner.

Today, tonight: Mark Indeli cato (“Ugly Betty”) surprises a former teacher in Brooklyn this morning as part of Office Max’s “A Day Made Better” campaign (school supplies).

And Clinton Kelly, who co-hosts “What Not to Wear” with Stacy London, signs copies of his new book, “Freakin’ Fabulous,” tonight (7 p.m.) at Borders (Time Warner Center).

Brooklyn-based filmmaker Keith Beauchamp is behind “Murder in Black and White,” a four-part documen tary series running through Wednesday on TV One (10 p.m.). Filmed in cooperation with the FBI, “Murder” exam ines, and helps solve, civil rights murders from the 1940s and ’50s. Beauchamp’s docu mentary on Emmet Till helped to re-open the investi gation into Till’s 1955 murder. Last, but not least: * Public TV’s new news cast, “Worldfocus,” pre mieres tonight (6 p.m./Ch. 13, 7 p.m./Ch. 21).
