HAVA HAS A PLAN TO HELP DISABLED VETS

SPORTING companies are joining forces to help wounded veterans with the hope that outdoors sports will help them back into society.

Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA) is an organization that was created to raise awareness and help disabled veterans with their healing process through guided hunts, shooting events and other outdoor sports.

Co-sponsored by major firearm and outdoor equipment manufacturers, the HAVA has set up a new Web site (www.honoredveterans.org) that contains information about the organization along with details on how you can become contributors and help our veterans.

“HAVA was formed by several concerned companies for the sole purpose of supporting disabled veterans and active duty soldiers,” said Tom Taylor, chairman of HAVA. “Support for the organization has been overwhelming and the Web site gives us a new means to communicate and raise awareness.”

So far, HAVA has served 57 disabled veterans and active duty soldiers by hosting three hunts and a shooting event at Fort Bragg, N.C. Another major shooting event is planned for next weekend at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio. HAVA is also currently planning several other hunts and events across the U.S.
