Woman elected on ‘family values’ accused of sexual harassment

A married upstate Assembly woman who replaced a male legislator who resigned after being accused of sexual harassment is now facing the same allegations.

A male staffer filed a complaint claiming that Buffalo-area Assemblywoman Angela Wozniak coerced him into having sex.

The complaint was filed with the Assembly Ethics Committee by 29-year-old Elias Farah.

Wozniak, 27, is married with a young son. She is a registered Conservative who won a seat long held by Democrats by running on a family-values platform.

Neither she nor Farah would comment.

But Wozniak’s lawyer, Steven Cohen, told Time Warner Cable News Buffalo, “We are . . . now looking forward to cooperating with the investigation to clear her good name.”

Wozniak succeeded Dennis Gabryszak, who resigned last year after he was accused of sending explicit messages to female staffers. His predecessor was caught up in an e-mail sex scandal involving an intern.
