Dameon Marmolejo, 21, was arrested Thursday after allegedly beating his 18-year-old girlfriend to a pulp at her Lubbock home, news station KCBD reported.

Police said Marmolejo attacked Solidad Torres on June 17 after realizing she had a Snapchat message on her phone.

Torres told investigators that the couple had met through Snapchat, but she deleted the app when he accused her of cheating.

She said he became angry that she re-downloaded the app and slapped her across the face.

Marmolejo then allegedly pushed her to the floor and began to punch her until she flipped over to protect her head and face.

He then began stomping on her back and head, Torres said.

Police said she was able to briefly escape to the bathroom, but he pushed his way inside and threw her to the floor.

According to Torres, that’s when he grabbed her by her hair and banged her head against the bathroom tub three or four times.

She told authorities she saw blood and blacked out.

Marmolejo called 911, but threw the phone at her before he left, according to KCBD.

The 18-year-old was taken to the hospital, where she received 15 staples and three stitches in her forehead.

Marmolejo was charged Thursday with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury. He is being held at Lubbock County Detention Center.

Torres, who just graduated from Monteray High School, opened up on Facebook about the “hurt and pain” of the alleged ordeal.

“I close my eyes and hear myself screaming for my life, I close my eyes and remember the pain I felt, I close my eyes and I see all the blood….but I open my eyes wishing it was all a scary nightmare,” she said.
