Leaving the Patriots and Tom Brady might not be the wisest career move, but apparently Hogan knows best.
Chris Hogan left the Pats to sign a one-year deal with Carolina, the Panthers announced on Friday.
Hogan, who played college ball at Monmouth, has spent the last three seasons of a seven-year NFL career with New England, finishing second in the league in 2016 with 17.9 yards per reception. He caught 35 passes for 532 yards and two touchdowns last season and made eight more grabs during the Pats’ postseason run to the Super Bowl 53 championship.
Hogan, 30, joins a Carolina receiving crew featuring D.J. Moore, Torrey Smith and Curtis Samuel after the Panthers lost wide receiver Devin Funchess to Indianapolis in free agency.
