New York’s fattest cat needs a stroller to get around town
He’s pussy galore.
Barsik the cat, who was left at a Manhattan animal shelter, could be the world’s heaviest house kitty.
The 40-pound, flabby feline — who ironically is a picky eater — had a veterinarian appointment on the Upper West Side on Friday afternoon, and it was quite a trip getting him there.
The super fat cat needed a special extra-large carrier — and makeshift stroller — to bring him to Animal General on Columbus Avenue, said his foster mom and cat lover Angelique Iuzzolino to The Post.
Once there, two handlers were called over to haul the whiskered butterball onto a scale used for dogs — because the cat one was too small.
A visitor whipped out her cellphone to take photos of the 5-year-old, 40-pound cat.
“Did he eat another cat?” she said, laughing.
The monster kitty was left at the city pound last week by his owners, who said they couldn’t have animals in their new home.

Iuzzolino, of the feline rescue group Anjellicle Cats, is temporarily taking care of him until he finds a permanent home.
“We’re pretty sure he’s the largest cat alive,” she said.
The last cat to win the Guinness World Record for size was Himmy, an Australian feline who weighed in at 46 pounds back in 1986 and died shortly after. Since then, the record book has stopped the contest to discourage overfeeding pets.
Iuzzolino said that when she brought Barsik home this past Sunday, she put in front of him an array of seven to eight wet foods and two dry foods for him to sample.
But he is quite the fusspot.
“He hasn’t finished any of it yet,” she said.
Instead, he’s chosen to munch on Friskies dry food, a junkie cat snack.
Veterinarian Jeanne Klafin said she suspects that Barsik’s mammoth size is the work of an endocrine or congenital disease.
Since his rescue from the Animal Care Center, he’s lost 1 pound — while gaining 6,500 followers on his Instagram account, “BigBarsik.”
