Noah Syndergaard’s “War of the Macots” has a new target.
The Mets righty has had a long-standing feud with Mr. Met and expressed his ire for his fellow mascots back in for 2017 when the Astros’ mascot Orbit put an “I [heart] THE ASTROS” sign on the back of Angel’s slugger Mike Trout. Syndergaard even stole the Phillie Phanatic’s vehicle.
On Thursday, Syndergaard had a run in with the Braves’ mascot, Blooper, while in the dugout before the Mets beat Atlanta 6-3 at SunTrust Park. Blooper walked over to Syndergaard, who has his arms resting on the dugout railing, and put his hands on his shoulders – appearing to have a serious conversation.
“Noah doesn’t look to enthused, I must say, ” Gary Cohen said during the Mets’ broadcast on SNY.
After being rebuffed by Syndergaard, Blooper stood with his hands outstretched at his side in disbelieve and proceeded to bury the fireballer’s head under his Braves jersey — shaking it back and forth before rubbing Syndergaard’s head. Syndergaard continue the playful feud once the game was over.
“That’s Assault in 63 States,” Syndergaard tweeted along with the video.
Maybe Thor is counting provinces in Asgard as well or it’s a reference to the score of the Mets’ win, but either way he isn’t pleased with Blooper.
