On the heels of a career-best season, Adam Thielen is getting paid.
The Vikings agreed to a multi-year extension with the receiver worth $64 million over four years — up to $73 million if he hits all incentives — with a guaranteed $35 million, his agency announced on Instagram. The new payday comes despite having two seasons left on a four-year deal signed in 2017.
Thielen has become one of the best receivers in the NFL since signing with Minnesota as a free agent in 2013, racking up 113 receptions and 1,373 yards in a 2018 season that included eight straight games with 100-plus receiving yards to open the year. Over the past two seasons, he ranks among the league’s best in touchdowns (82), receptions (273) and receiving yards (3,616).
