PGA Championship 2019: Best way to follow Tiger Woods at Bethpage Black

If you’re coming to the PGA Championship and you want to see Tiger Woods play, but don’t want to be blocked out by 10 to 15 people deep along the ropes, your best bet is to walk to the outer reaches of Bethpage Black.

“If I wanted to have a great view of the best players in the world, I would go to the far end of the course on [hole numbers] 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12,’’ PGA of America chief championships officer Kerry Haigh said. “You will get a great view of every player in the field out there.’’

The reason for that is it’s more than a mile walk to get out that far. But it will be worth it.

If you can get a spot at the grandstands either behind the first tee or the 18th green, you’ll have a great view of the action.

The grandstands and the grassy bank behind the par-3 17th green are where some of the best atmosphere will be because there is so much room for fans to watch there.

Another great grandstand is the one behind the par-3 14th green.

There are no grandstands along the fourth hole, which is a signature hole on the course, so there could be good viewing from outside the ropes around the fourth green and fifth tee.
