‘Brady Bunch’ takes over Food Network for 50th anniversary specials

Get ready for “The Brady Bunch” onslaught as the iconically kitschy series nears its 50th anniversary.

A slew of “Brady Bunch”-inspired specials airing on Discovery Channel and Food Network are joining HGTV’s previously announced “A Very Brady Renovation” — documenting its replication of the interior of the show’s original split-level house in Studio City, Calif.

All three networks fall under the Discovery umbrella.

“Brady”-inspired episodes of “Fast N’ Loud” (Discovery) and “Worst Cooks in America,” “The Kitchen” and “Pioneer Woman” (all Food Network) will feature cast members from the original series: Barry Williams (Greg), Maureen McCormick (Marcia), Christopher Knight (Peter), Eve Plumb (Jan), Mike Lookinland (Bobby) and Susan Olsen (Cindy).

The episodes, airing “in August or September” will be pegged to “A Very Brady Renovation,” which also has no definitive airdate beyond its vague “September” telecast date.

That special features all six “Brady Bunch” stars helping to overhaul the interior of the original “BB” house to duplicate the interior seen on the original ABC series, which aired from 1969-74 — including the floating staircase, orange-and-green kitchen and the kids’ Jack-n-Jill bathroom.

(The house’s now-iconic exterior was real; interior scenes were shot on a Hollywood soundstage.)

Last August, HGTV shelled out $3.5 million to buy the house — located at 11222 Dilling St. and built in 1959 — to use for “A Very Brady Renovation,” hoping to cash in on the hype surrounding the show’s 50th anniversary.
