55-year-old woman shoved onto subway tracks in the Bronx

A 55-year-old woman was shoved onto the tracks at a Bronx subway station Tuesday morning — the latest in a rash of subway assaults in the Big Apple.

The unidentified victim was at the station at 174th Street and Southern Boulevard shortly before 8 a.m. when she was pushed in an unprovoked attack, police sources said.

Her assailant, who sources believe was another woman, fled the station and is on the loose.

The victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.

The incident happened on the 2/5 line.

The city has seen a rash of subway assaults in recent months, including four slashings at MTA stations since Wednesday, police said.
