Second suspect arrested in connection to fatal Harlem stray-bullet shooting
Cops busted a second suspect this week in connection to the fatal stray-bullet shooting of a Harlem dog-walker nearly two years ago, authorities said.
Erick Bautista, 22, was arrested Monday and charged with murder in connection to the June 10, 2019 slaying of Winston McKay, 40 — who happened to be in the path of gunfire as he walked with his pooch near the corner of Amsterdam Avenue and West 146th Street, cops said.
McKay, who was hit in the right leg, was taken to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, cops said.
The shooter was actually aiming a rifle at another man, 26, who ignored him and walked off — so he opened fire, inadvertently striking McKay, according to cops.
Ozjheir McClain, 19, was arrested four months after the fatal shooting and also charged with murder, cops said.
Police could not confirm Tuesday afternoon which of the two men allegedly fired the fatal shot.
The night of the shooting, McKay had previously been celebrating his anniversary with husband Terry Solomon at a park in the neighborhood.
