Thief who threatened guard at NYC Target with box cutter busted

A thief who threatened a security guard at a Manhattan Target with a box cutter and swiped two duffel bags’ worth of items has been arrested, cops said.

Dwayne Spaulding, 42, of The Bronx was busted and charged with robbery in connection with the 11 a.m. Oct. 17 heist at the Kips Bay store on Second Avenue near East 29th Street, police said.

Spaulding snatched electronics, pharmacy items and food from the big-box store, cops said.

When a security guard confronted him, he flashed a box cutter before taking off with his loot, which he had stuffed into a pair of duffel bags, authorities said.

The theft comes amid a shoplifting spree across the Big Apple that has left shelves bare at stores such as CVS, Walgreens and Rite-Aid.
