Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn break up: Fans call for Pete Davidson
Talk your talk and go viral.
Taylor Swift and her long-time boyfriend Joe Alwyn have reportedly broken up, and the internet has one thing on its mind: Pete Davidson.
Swift, 33, and Alwyn, 32, split after six years of dating, according to Entertainment Tonight.
The singer’s fans were mourning the breakup, but as happens with almost every celebrity breakup, “Pete Davidson” was quickly trending on Twitter.
Davidson, 29, has become notorious for his “BDE” and his dating history with many A-list celebrities. He has previously been seen with Emily Ratajkowski, dated Cazzie David, was engaged to Ariana Grande and was in a very public relationship with Kim Kardashian, among others. He is currently linked to his “Bupkis” co-star Chase Sui Wonders.
The comedian recently admitted in an interview that the hyper-focus on his love life, especially on “Saturday Night Live,” made him feel like a “f – – king loser.”
“I’m in my 20s and I’ve dated people. And for some reason, that’s very crazy and interesting to people. I don’t think it’s interesting,” Davidson said. “I’ve been in show business for, like, half my life almost — for 14 or 15 years and on a national TV show. In 12 years I’ve dated 10 people. I don’t think that’s that crazy, but to some people, that’s very interesting. That became all anyone would talk about.”
Of course, it continued to be all anyone could talk about with the news of a new celebrity breakup.
“keep Pete Davidson locked up for the next few weeks I’m so serious,” one person tweeted.
“pete davidson prolly somewhere smiling hard as f–k right now,” another wrote.
“What’s Joe Biden’s plan for keeping Pete Davidson away from Taylor Swift?” someone quipped.
“Pete Davidson has the option to do the funniest thing possible,” a user wrote.
“BREAKING: Pete Davidson and Joe Alwyn have reportedly been spotted at dinner tonight,” one joked.
“Pete Davidson could honestly do the funniest bit of his life by just showing up and walking around Tampa with no explanation next weekend,” another suggested.
Davidson also previously clarified that the people he’s dated in the past have been those he’s met through spending so much time at NBC.
“I’m not, like, flexing, you know what I mean? And these people that I’ve dated, I met them at work,” he added. “I wasn’t in anyone’s DMs, no one was in mine. I worked at one of the five Hollywood epicenters of where you meet people and that’s how it happened.”
Swift and Davidson actually collaborated during the “Bodies Bodies Bodies” actor’s stint on “SNL” with a rap called “Three Sad Virgins,” aimed at the show’s writers and comedy group Please Don’t Destroy.
So even if the two don’t end up dating, maybe fans could get another collab in the future.
