Angela Lansbury’s LA home flies off market for $500K over ask

“Murder She Wrote” star Angela Lansbury’s California hacienda has been bought less than a month after listing for sale.

Listed in late March for $4.49 million, this Brentwood, Los Angeles home has now changed hands for $500,000 over ask, or $4.99 million, TMZ first reported

Lansbury died in 2022 at age 96.

The four-bedroom, four-bathroom home measures in at 3,708 square feet and is set on a lush half acre of land in the tony neighborhood.

The English entertainer and her late husband Peter Shaw purchased the pad for $925,000 in 1985, and it served as Lansbury’s primary residence for the subsequent nearly four decades, the Wall Street Journal reported

The terracotta-roofed and tiled estate was “the perfect house” for the couple, their daughter, Deirdre Shaw, told the publication.

“It has lots of light, which is what my mom craved,” added Shaw, a professional chef. “It’s light, light and more light.”

In her years there, Lansbury left her mark on the abode, added Beverly Hills Estates’ Mick Partridge, the listing and buyer’s agent.

“Mrs. Lansbury’s charm still radiates throughout this home,” he told The Post. “Some of her most creative achievements came while living here and it served as her primary residence for over 35 years. If only those walls could sing!”

In addition to her essence, the residence also boasts vaulted wood ceilings, skylights, a pool surrounded by an expansive patio and a terraced garden with a small greenhouse.

Compared to other A-listers’ extravagant mansions, the Bonhill Road dwelling is quite humble, but Shaw explained this was a reflection of her late parents’ generally grateful worldview.

“Neither she nor my father came from money, and they appreciated everything they had,” she told the Journal. “A lot of big stars these days, they forget. But they never did.”
