Anthony Richardson’s brother left viewers perplexed on Day 1 of the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Colts found what they hope will be their franchise quarterback after selecting Richardson with the No. 4-overall pick Thursday evening.
And if they need it, a potential voice to narrate any videos they might want to put out.
Richardson and his family were being interviewed on NFL Network after he was picked when his brother’s voice turned heads.
Just 13-years-old, Richardson’s little brother, Corey, unveiled a low, booming voice that sounded like it belonged to a fully-grown adult, not a teenager.
“This is very special to me,” Corey said when asked about his brother being drafted. “Especially because I look up to him as much and I’ve always wanted to be like him.”
The way it sounded, however, it seemed like Corey was Anthony’s older brother, not vice versa.
Beyond his baritone voice, Corey has a neck tattoo of a cross to complete his 13-going-on-30 aura.
Corey and Anthony were also dressed in similar attire, something they planned ahead of the draft.
They both sported a grey suit with a turtleneck shirt underneath, and have similar hairstyles.
After Anthony was drafted, he watched an emotional video where Corey recorded himself reading an inspiring letter to him.
“Dear Anthony, I just want to take this moment to express how incredibly proud I am of you,” Corey said in the video. “You have accomplished so much. You have shown so much determination throughout your life. Your hard work and dedication has paid off in so many ways. And it is truly inspiring to see the person you have become.
“Whether it is your academic achievements, your athletic achievements or your personal growth, you have constantly pushed yourself to be the best that you can be. I am honored to have a brother like you, and I am grateful for the examples you have set for me and others. Keep up the great work and know that I’m always here to support you on all your future adventures. I love you, bro.”
It was a message, and a voice, beyond Corey’s years.
Anthony shed a few tears while watching the video.
