After going offense on the first two picks of Day 3, the Jets turned their attention to defense in the sixth round.
The Jets selected Western Michigan linebacker Zaire Barnes with pick No. 184 overall.
Barnes figures to be a special teams contributor as a rookie and provide some depth at linebacker.
Barnes tore his ACL in 2020 and then became a full-time starter in 2021.
He led the team with 93 tackles and nine passes defended in 2022.
Barnes will turn 24 in September, continuing a trend of the Jets selecting older players in this Draft.
