Simone Biles was feeling the butterflies before her second wedding to husband Jonathan Owens.
Speaking to Vogue following the couple’s lavish nuptials Saturday in Cabo, Mexico, the seven-time Olympic medalist — who first wed the NFL safety in a courthouse ceremony in April — said she “felt so sick” the day of the ceremony and had “never been so nervous before” in her life.
“I actually felt so sick the entire day, and when it was almost time to walk, my heart was beating out of my chest,” the 26-year-old Biles recalled.
“I’ve never been so nervous before in my life. [But,] I felt confident walking down the aisle. Seeing Jonathan at the altar was a dream. Our guests were cheering for everyone. I was shocked by the love in the air. The ceremony was so beautiful and dreamy!”
The renowned gymnast, whose romance with the 27-year-old Owens began in early 2020, said she “fell in love” with the athlete “all over” during the ceremony.
“Jonathan and I just tuned into each other and blocked everyone out,” said Biles, who wore Galia Lahav for the big day.
Once they swapped vows, the couple — who got engaged in February 2022 — partied the night away with their loved ones.
“I’m so sad it’s all over,” Biles said. “I want to do it again. We had the best night of our lives. It was a 12 out of 10!”
Owens, who spent the past four seasons with the Houston Texans, reflected on his special day with Biles in a heartfelt Instagram post.
“The perfect evening,” Owens began. “The wedding was amazing and most importantly, my wife looked STUNNING.
“Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate The Owens!! This weekend is one we’ll never forget.”
Biles then responded to her husband’s post, “So excited I get to love you forever.”
