I proposed — our dog said ‘yes’ before my girlfriend could respond

It mutts be true love.

A British couple’s excited dog stole the spotlight after she was snapped “accepting” a marriage proposal before the bride-to-be even had a chance to say “yes.”

Vicky Jones, 33 and her fiancé, Josh Stewart, also 33, were walking their pup Breeze along the beach last week when Stewart decided to pop the question.

“The proposal was very unexpected,” Jones told Kennedy News. “Apparently, he was planning it for a couple of months and everyone knew apart from me.”

According to Jones, her 11-year-old Dalmatian “jumped up as soon as he got down on one knee.”

“I said yes, but obviously the dog said yes before me. Apparently, dogs sense things before humans so [she was right],” said the catering company manager.

Breeze, according to Jones, loves her fiancé almost as much as she does.

“She has a good relationship with my fiancé. If I’m not at home, she snuggles up with him,” gushed Jones.

Totally caught up in the romantic moment, Jones claimed she didn’t register what her dog was doing until she looked at photos of the proposal.

“I was in shock and I was like, ‘What’s going on?’ So the dog led the way in that situation,” laughed Jones. “She was so excited, I didn’t recognize that the dog was there because I was so in the moment.

“But luckily it’s so funny to look back at the pictures and see her playing the fool like she usually does. We just laughed so hard because it’s something she’d always do. She’s always the center of attention.”

It is still unclear to the couple if the pup thought the ring was a toy or a treat, as the owners joke that Breeze is “very food-orientated.” Kennedy News & Media
“She’s just such a funny dog. She has a permanent smile on her face,” chuckled Jones. “I’m very lucky to have her, she’s a great dog.” Kennedy News & Media

Even though a date for the nuptials hasn’t been set, both humans have agreed they want the dog to be a part of the wedding.

“I’d love her to be a ring bearer at the wedding, or [at least] just be involved in all the pictures,” said Jones. “As long as we have a treat at the end of the aisle, she’ll definitely come to us. She loves the attention more than anything.
