‘The View’s Ana Navarro calls mosque floor ‘yuck,’ but still says: ‘Be respectful’

Ana Navarro fans have reminded the star to be respectful of other cultures — after complaining that she had to remove her shoes while visiting a holy space in Turkey.

“The View” host, 51, and her husband Al Cárdenas, 75, were exploring Istanbul on Wednesday, where the TV personality shared photos of herself inside a mosque in Galataport.

In the pictures, shared to Instagram, Navarro posed for pictures with her hands on her hips. Accompanying the snaps was a lengthy caption in which she told followers she wished she had “worn socks” inside the mosque to avoid walking on the disgusting floors.

“When going into a Mosque, like Hagia Sophia or the Blue Mosque, you need to remove your shoes and cover your hair and shoulders and you can’t wear shorts/mini-skirts, etc,” Navarro wrote, adding: “I wish I’d worn socks. Walking barefoot on a carpet where millions walk is a little yuck to me.”

The co-host added it’s important to remember to wear clothes that that adhere to the culture, “because the alternative is wearing some poncho thing you buy there or a musty, drab, olive scarf they lend you to cover your hair,” she said.

“They are opening their doors. It’s their country. Their norms. Their beliefs,” she added. “We are guests here and need to be respectful and comply. That being said, the architectural, historical, cultural and religious significance, are worth going there.”

Navarro finished the Instagram post by confirming to her followers that the sites were a must see.

“You really can’t come to Istanbul and not visit these sights,” she quipped.

Her followers loved the star’s respectful encouragement, many saying they had visited Turkey themselves.

“I agree wholeheartedly Ana!! Go forth and travel y’all,” one follower said. “Get out of the USA, but be Respectful! Remember you’re a guest in others home … act accordingly. #travelislife #explore #bekind.”

“I never wear shoes in my house either and I keep booties at the door for anyone coming in,” one fan commented. “If you knew what you picked up on the bottom of your shoes you would never wear shoes in the house! You are looking very appropriate to be in a mosque!”

Navarro recently had fans fawning over her physique after showing off her weight loss, with the daytime Emmy-nominee saying the secret was pickleball and taking pilates classes three times a week.
