Kadarius Toney has added Pat McAfee to his list of social media feuds.
The Chiefs wide receiver, who was trolled for his disastrous performance in last week’s season-opening loss to the Lions, apparently isn’t happy with McAfee over something the ESPN personality said after the game.
Toney posted the following message about McAfee, which appeared to expire on Instagram:
“Pat McAfee be talkin’ like he really know s–t,” Toney wrote, per the outlet.
“You just another goofy…chill.”
It’s unclear what McAfee, a former NFL punter, said to ruffle Toney’s feathers.
However, McAfee did mention on his ESPN show that Toney appeared to delete his X account (formerly known as Twitter) following his struggles in the Chiefs’ home-opener, as noted by The Sun.
McAfee has yet to address Toney’s comments.
Toney tallied three drops — including one that turned into a pick-six — in the 21-20 loss at Arrowhead, and was subsequently trolled on social media.
Even “Big Blue Mal,” who went viral for her past feud with Toney, took the high road after the wideout’s brutal performance.
Toney was traded to the Chiefs last season following one-plus injury-riddled seasons with the Giants, during which he did not score a single touchdown.
The Giants selected Toney with the 20th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
The 24-year-old wideout missed most of training camp and the Chiefs’ preseason due to a knee injury.
Toney expressed optimism moving forward, and explained how quarterback Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid motivated him after the Week 1 loss.
“Just settle down, just be the person I am, never try to overdo or overstep what I normally do,” Toney said of Reid’s advice to him. “I’m saying, don’t try to be a superhero, make plays when it’s time to make them.”
Toney added that his quarterback and coach trust him to get the job done on the field.
“Both (Reid and Mahomes) of those guys, they got trust and faith in me, and I appreciate those guys for that,” he said. “And like I said, You got to go put the work in, and it ain’t really too much talking to me left.”
The reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs were also short-handed in their loss to Detroit — as star tight end Travis Kelce sat out with a hyperextended his knee, and Chris Jones reportedly watched the game from a suite as he waited for a new contract.
Toney’s social media battles aren’t anything new.
This week, he poked fun at Giants fans during Big Blue’s 40-0 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
The Chiefs visit Jacksonville in Week 2 on Sept. 17.
