Man wins $1M on scratch-off mother put in Valentine’s Day card: ‘Thanks, mom’

A Massachusetts man is loving his mother more than ever after winning $1 million on a scratch-off she placed in his Valentine’s Day card.

Matthew Broadley, of Tyngsborough, won the seven-figure prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Jumbo Cash” instant ticket game on Tuesday night, according to lottery officials.

He got a pair of the instant-win tickets from his mother and scratched off the winner around 11 p.m.

“Thanks, mom,” Broadley said when he went to retrieve his winnings in Dorchester, bringing the Valentine’s Day card with him.
