Prince Harry’s pal claims duke and King Charles are no longer speaking — here’s why

A close friend of Prince Harry’s is claiming that the Duke of Sussex is no longer on speaking terms with his father, King Charles III.

Despite the father-son duo’s meeting in February during Harry’s mad dash to London following the king’s cancer diagnosis, the pair’s communication has since become nonexistent.

And while their 45-minute meetup is said to have been positive, the monarch, 75, no longer takes his son’s calls or responds to his letters, according to those close to Harry.

“He gets ‘unavailable right now,'” the duke’s pal told People. “His calls go unanswered. He has tried to reach out about the king’s health, but those calls go unanswered too.”

As their relations continue to worsen, Harry has reportedly asked his father for help with security to ensure that his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are safe.

“Harry is frightened and feels the only person who can do anything about it is his father,” a source told the outlet.

“Harry is determined to protect his own family at all costs,” another insider added.

Earlier this year, London High Court ruled to strip the Sussexes of taxpayer-funded UK security protection.

He plans to appeal the decision.

What’s more, Harry — whose offer to foot the bill for personal police protection in the UK was rejected in court — feels that his father is able to intervene to help.

Allegedly as a result of this impasse, the pair’s relationship has worsened and a “complete silence” now awaits Harry whenever he reaches out to the king.

Elsewhere, sources close to the Sussexes claim the palace is constantly haunted by what happened with Harry and William’s late mother, Princess Diana, after she quit royal life.

“Charles’ fear is a repeat of the past,” a source told the outlet. “When his wife divorced the institution, she took the headlines, overshadowed his work and became a global superstar. Seeing his son leave with his wife was not part of the plan.”

The Sussexes “didn’t feel they had a choice,” their pal said.

“The only option was to leave — for their sanity. I do think they thought if they got out of this bubble, there would be less focus on them.”

The Post has reached out to reps for the Sussexes for comment.

Per People, Buckingham Palace will not comment on security provisions, but a palace source told the outlet that the idea that Harry’s security is in Charles’ hands is “wholly incorrect.”
