Caitlin Clark still ‘deprived’ of the sun after spending Olympic break on boat

All that time on a boat and Caitlin Clark still can’t get a good tan.

After using her Olympics break to have fun in the sun on a boat with Fever teammates Lexie Hull and Katie Lou Samuelson, the star WNBA rookie joked Tuesday at practice she could have used some more time catching rays.

“The sun. I’m still so pale,” Clark said when asked about anything she may have been deprived of during the break. “I’m still deprived of the sun.”

After participating in her first WNBA All-Star Game this month, Clark made the best of her Olympics excursion by spending some downtime on a boat with her partner and friends.

Boyfriend Connor McCaffery, a team assistant for the Pacers, posted a photo last week on Instagram showing the pair on a boat at an undisclosed location.

Clark also posted a shot that featured the front of their boat in the water.

The couple was joined by Hull and her boyfriend, Pirates pitching prospect Will Matthiessen.

Hull had previously said she and her teammates planned to vacation in Mexico during the break, and Hull and Clark were captured on a yellow raft in the water.

Hull then posted a set of four Instagram photos Monday featuring Clark and Samuelson on a boat with a background similar to the previous snaps.

The photos showed the trio in swimwear enjoying beverages and flashing peace signs.

Clark, Hull and Samuelson will have plenty more time to relax with the Fever not returning to action until Aug. 16, when they host the Mercury.

Indiana has the seventh-best record in the league with its 11-15 mark and currently occupies a playoff spot.

Clark leads the team with 17.1 points and 8.2 assists per game and is also averaging 5.8 rebounds per contest. However, she is also averaging an eye-popping 5.6 turnovers per game.

Those stats have her as the heavy WNBA Rookie of the Year favorite with -2000 odds at FanDuel, ahead of rival and Sky star Angel Reese, who sits at +700.
