Jackson Mahomes supported Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole, in a recent Instagram comment, but he didn’t receive the same treatment in return.
The internet personality, whose older brother is Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, raved over Kayla’s designer outfit she wore during a recent trip to New York City.
“You ate with this fit. Very demure!” Jackson wrote, adding a smiley face.
Kayla, who dated the Chiefs tight end on and off from 2017-22, looked stunning in a cropped T-shirt and leather boots by Miu Miu and a beige pleated skirt.
She carried a Bottega Veneta bag and donned sunglasses by Elisa Johnson.
Some fans ripped Jackson for his remark, as Kelce has been dating superstar singer Taylor Swift since last summer.
“End it,” someone wrote.
Others recalled Jackson’s legal woes from a situation in 2023, when he was accused of assault and forcibly kissing Aspen Vaughn, the female owner of a Kansas City-area restaurant, without consent during an incident at the establishment on Feb. 25.
In March, Jackson was sentenced to six months probation in the case, which came two months after prosecutors dismissed three felony charges for aggravated sexual battery related to the woman’s allegations.
Jackson and Kayla became close during her relationship with Kelce.
Both she and Kelce were also in Patrick’s and his wife Brittany’s wedding, which took place in Maui, Hawaii, in March 2022.
Kayla and Kelce called it quits sometime in 2022 following a red-carpet appearance together at the NFL Honors in February of that year.
It’s unclear exactly what ended their relationship.
Brittany forged a close friendship with Swift when the 14-time Grammy winner got together with Kelce.
Kayla previously told People that she unfollowed Patrick and Brittany on social media due to “the reality” of their situation and things being more complex.
“The reality is I know these people in real life. And so, in real life, I’ve communicated to these people why I’ve had to publicly make the decisions that I made,” Kayla told the outlet.
“To everyone it’s like, ‘Oh, you broke up a year ago,’ and that meant it’s like a light switch, you turn it on and off and everything goes dead and black and you don’t ever speak to anyone ever again. That’s not reality. I have ongoing relationships with all parties involved.
“… That’s a lot of history and friendship there, that doesn’t change overnight. But publicly, because things are happening so quickly and so publicly, I have to protect myself. That’s really all that is. The love is still there.”
